![]() ![]() By rushing quests you unlock higher tier quests faster, and remember, zombie difficulty in these buildings are based on your game stage, so even if you are doing tier 4 quests on day 6, the zombies will be very weak walkers inside, thus giving you the even better rewards from the traders with not much in the way of extra challenges. Strength helps you break down walls during fetch quests or dig for buried supplies faster while also giving you raw materials to build your own base (and building a base is the fastest way to level up and leave the stone age) while int has the best skill of the alpha, daring adventurer, which gives you more money and more options of rewards from said quests. The meta goal is to rush as many quests are humanly possible thus allowing you to unlock higher tier quests for better rewards and more money. Randomly looting is sadly a waste of time in this alpha as loot is determined by your game stage. To help in exploiting them, int and str are the best trees for this. Traders are ridiculously powerful and they ignore the loot progression of the world meaning that you can get much stronger items from them way earlier. The most common "meta" build would likely be the strength/intellect build for this alpha for PVE/solo/co-op. TFP have stated that traders will be nerfed in a20 though. That has to do with a major balance problem of this patch in that traders are way too good. The only one in that list that is objectively overpowered is daring adventurer. Sexy Trexy, Better Barter, Daring Adventurer, Parkour, Salvage Operations, Living Off the Land, and Master Chef are likely the most mentioned as they are very powerful. There are no essential skills that you can't be successful without, but there are a few standout skills that get mentioned a lot. A steel pickaxe is just as nice as the auger, finding the schematic can be tough though so better barter helps with that! The 20% chance to 1 shot a block is where the auger becomes truly op though and clearly the better option) It’s nice to have but steel tool schematic is just as nice. So don’t run out of stamina.Īuger is really hard to rush and not needed tbh. Strength is just so good for everything, you usually only die when you are out of stamina from swinging or sprinting. But strength and intelligence are the most I bounce around between intelligence and strength in my solo runs.Īfter I have a good set up and safe secure base I venture out into machine gunner and the other perks. Easiest way to level up is upgrading base and easiest way to do that is to collect materials with miner69er and the increased tool quality perk. So it scales very very well into late game. The progression is nice too! Blunder, sawed, pump, then auto shotty. You will always get use out of the shotgun perk (Save all the paper you find, each one is a shell) Shotguns are super effective and easy to craft. Strength is great for several reasons: melee weapons are there, tools are there, stamina is there, and shotguns too.
